Awaken the Sleeping Eagle!

Introduction.  The thoughts expressed herein are a reflection of my personal interests and beliefs. They are the reason for this blog. I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican.  Rather, I am opposed to our present political duopoly which has a stranglehold on our lives, our financial interests, and our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  They do not truly represent the best interests of the American people. I consider myself to be a progressive populist who is concerned about what has happened to our country and its people over the past 30 years and who fears for its future.

America in Crisis.  My bottom line is that we the people of America have been robbed of our democracy.  It was stolen from us when we were looking the other way, distracted by the misleading information fed to us by our political leaders.  We are now a democracy in name only, and our rights, our privileges, and even our freedom, are at stake. It is time for Americans to awaken and reclaim what is rightfully theirs under the Constitution. After thirty plus years of benign neglect, it won't be easy, but it can be done.

Problems Are Not New.  We have a great country, but it is not as great a country as our forefathers envisioned.  And it is not as great a country as we had in the middle of the 20th century.  The problems that beset us today are not new. We have faced them and conquered them before. We must once again regain our democracy or risk forfeiting it forever.

We Must All Work Together.  The purpose of this blog is to alert the American people to the critical situation in which we and our country now find ourselves; to share information, opinions, and ideas; and to explore measures we can take to improve it for ourselves and for those who come after us. There will also be excerpts from other sources and links to other sites that deal with the same or similar problems, but perhaps from a different angle, that might be of interest to you.

I hope you find the issues raised here to be interesting and thought-provoking. Please feel free to respond to any message or issue with your own opinions and ideas. Together, perhaps, we can help motivate a sufficient number of people to take action to restore democracy to its rightful place: "we the people" -- the American people.

"When the eagles are silent, the parrots begin to jabber." — Winston S. Churchill

We are the eagles, while the politicians and the big money interests are the parrots.  Thank you for visiting and for reading.

P.S.  Because of the voluminous amount of information available on the subject  at hand and the enormous amount of detail that could be provided, I have opted for a concept I call a "skim-blog."  Visitors can read all of the posts in their entirety, if they wish, or they can skim the contents based upon section headings and read only those sections that attract their attention.  There is a great deal of value to be derived either way.

Here for your convenience is a list by topic of the posts in this blog with links to each:
